Also the third race weekend of the Fanatec GT2 European Series, now at the Italian Misano World Circuit, ended with a victory for PK Carsport drivers Stienes Longin and Nicolas Saelens. The Audi duo also remains at the top of the standings. Peter Guelinckx and Bert Longin also continued their impressive streak and were on the podium for the sixth time in six races.
That it would not be easy in Misano was already confirmed in qualifying for the first race, where both Audis were in fourth and fifth place overall.
The second race was held on Saturday, just before sunset. The temperature was even higher than in the morning and the mercury flirted with thirty degrees. In the opening phase Bert and Stienes Longin fought a duel on the edge.
Peter Guelinckx was the third Pro-Am rider to cross the line, securing a sixth podium in six races. This means that in the halfway point of the season, Stienes Longin and Nicolas Saelens now have a six point lead over Peter Guelinckx and Bert Longin. The next confrontation between the two PK Carsport duos in the Fanatec GT2 European Series will take place in three weeks’ time, on the mythical circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.
